Welcome to my blog

March’s Intended Wing

IMG_3437

I explained to you HERE what this post is going to be about each month.  For this month, I’m able to let you know how I did on February’s goals as well as let you in on what I’m working on in March.

While they are goals that I hope to accomplish, I also realize that each month holds its own schedule, ups, down and unexpected events.  In the end I may not knock everything off my list, but I hope to at least make progress in the direction that I’m wanting to go…my intended wing.

As I make my monthly, weekly and daily goals I’m taking into consideration:

  • the themes that God is developing in my life
  • the person I want to be later in life
  • the dreams He’s given me
  • the priorities I have in place
  • the reality of what needs to happen as I fulfill my primary role as wife and momma of 3

I have settled on 3 BIG projects or goals (plus one theme of sorts) I want to accomplish or take consistent forward action on and so you’ll see most of my goals fall under one of these 4 categories.

#1 – Start a podcast.

#2 – Continue down the path of healing and working toward a dream that isn’t exactly defined yet.  I will keep company with Jesus, listen and walk with Him.

#3 – Gather people to my home at least once a month.

#4 – Self-Care as something to learn about, share about and develop habits around.

Bonus:  #5 – Maintain those tasks that are important such as caring for my husband, home, family, business

Got a stack of new books today. Thought I would just read the prelude. Ended up fast and furious with my highlighter and tears down my cheeks. Just what I needed to hear. Thanks for the recommendation @thenester. #shesbecoming

Monthly Goals:

Work on the technical aspect of podcasting (equipment, etc.) AND securing guests for first 4 podcasts.  (ACK!  This one scares me.) (#1) – Sorta did this but not all of it.  I’m learning how bad I am about pushing through when I’m scared or don’t know what I’m doing or both.  So…this will be back on my list for March!

Read The Gifts of Imperfection by Brene Brown (#2)

Read a fun book – will have to report when I decide what this will be. (#4) – I read parts of two fun books but didn’t finish either.  Instead of reading something fun I spent too much time scrolling social media. #keepingitreal

Gather some peeps to my home.  I have a little something in mind for this and will be excited to share it with you. Get a peek HERE. (#3)  – I did this one and it was SO dang fun!  We had a little family fun for Valentine’s day.  But the gathering I had with some friends at the end of the month will need to be a post all it’s own.  Stay tuned!

Keep blogging schedule – 10 posts/month (#5)

Finish Lara Casey Powersheets – For some reason I’m stalled out on these.  I enjoy the process but just haven’t completed them.  Will keep at it!

Do something creative – more hand lettering or a craft.  I have the stuff to do wire word art. – My creative “something” wasn’t a craft but the work I did to gather some gals was creative and quite enjoyable.

Send out at least 5 cards in honor of this month of love.  Will most likely be using THESE.  LOVED doing this.  On Valentine’s day we had a few family members over and all of the adults that came got a Valentine’s day card from me.  It was little out of the box and I had a great time doing it.

Grown up homemade valentines ❤️. Thanks @jonesdesigncompany

Do something…ANYTHING…to start tax prep.  (I am a notorious procrastinator on this one.) – NOPE.  Not a thing got done on this.  Ugh.

Weekly Goals:  I’m doing a pretty good job of keeping these rhythms.  When I think if them as rhythms and not specific markers, they become more enjoyable and hold less pressure.

Real supper 3-4 times a week (plus leftovers) = feeding my family well (#5).

3 Blog posts (#5)

Exercise 3 times (#4)

Daily Goals:

Love well = hugging big kids and affirming D (#5).

Keep regular morning work schedule (#5)

Coffee, Jesus and reading each morning (#2 and #4)

This pillow is called "January". I shall rename it February and share with you my friends in honor of today...or this week...or all month. Stay cozy!
