I wholeheartedly agree with Rosalind.  We all know (and are desperately trying to believe in midlife) that beauty radiates from the inside out.  We experience it when we see that woman who the world may not notice for her appearance but who is all grace, love and goodness. Gals like that pull us right in.  Laughter, joy, a pleasant disposition go a long way with others.  So, let’s all agree to work on our inner beauty even more than we work on our outer selves.  Mmmkay?  Good.

Friends, I’m not suggesting that we just roll over, let our roots grow out and give up.  What I am suggesting however is that we do the best with what we’ve got and take care of ourselves. I found my first gray hair at the tender age of 18 and have been coloring it faithfully since college.  The truth of the matter is that most of us are trying to look and feel our best when we are out and about.  There’s no denying it that when you are rocking a great hair day or an outfit that makes you feel like a million bucks…you are unstoppable.

So to the subject of beauty on the blog.  We will be sharing tips, tricks, favorite products and outfit ideas that will help us grow into this second part of our lives with beauty and grace.  (If you would like more info on how to do this, click on over to my HOME page, scroll to the bottom and sign up for my newsletter that is so cleverly titled Fortyologie).  We can do this!

To get us started I have included a picture of my current favorite beauty product.  It’s called BB Cream.  I’m pretty sure there are many brands of this but mine came from the drug store and works wonders so B.O.O.M.  It does exactly what it says on the tube…it’s a magic skin beautifier.  I don’t know how it works…it comes out white and sort of gritty yet turns into a beautious smooth Spackle type of thing when I put it on my face.  Seriously, I’m not even kidding.  Makeup isn’t typically my jam but you can take my word for it on this.
